Processor Guides

Since I am rather interested in a wide variety of processors and platforms, I redocument anything I am interested in using personally. This enables me to learn the platform very well, as well as creating a nice single set of documentation that gives me all the information I need. As a result, I have created various useful charts and documents. Many of the documents are incomplete and are marked incomplete if they are not yet fully useful (such as the x86 documentation).

x86 Series

Documentation for the 16/32/64bit x86/x86-64 series of processors by Intel, AMD and Cyrix. NOTE: This documentation *IS NOT* complete. Though it is fairly useful in it's current state, some information has not been reverified, some parts of it pasted in from various documents and not rewritten, etc. This data sheet *will* contain full information for the following processors:

x86 Processor Data (INCOMPLETE, v0.1-PREVIEW, Last Modified: 2008-01-03)
x86 Opcode Chart (INCOMPLETE, v0.1-PREVIEW, Last Modified: 2008-01-01)

MC68K Series

Documentation for the 16/32bit 68000 series of processors by Motorola. NOTE: This documentation *IS NOT* complete. Though it is fairly useful in it's current state, some information has not been reverified, some parts of it pasted in from various documents and not rewritten, etc. This data sheet *will* contain full information for the following processors:

68000 Processor Data (INCOMPLETE, v0.1-PREVIEW, Last Modified: 2007-11-06)
68000 Opcode Chart (INCOMPLETE, v0.1-PREVIEW, Last Modified: 2007-11-06)

65xx Series

Documentation for the 8bit (and later 16bit) 65xx series of processors. This data sheet contains full information for the following processors:

65xx Processor Data (v0.2b, Last Modified: 2007-02-17)
65xx Opcode Chart (v0.2b, Last Modified: 2007-02-17)

8080/Z80 Series

Documentation for the 8/16bit 8080 and Z80 series of processors by Intel and Zilog. These files contain full information for the following processors:

8080/Z80 Processor Data (v0.1, Last Modified: 2007-03-07)
8080/Z80 Opcode Chart (v0.1, Last Modified: 2007-03-07)

SPC-700

Documentation for the custom 8bit SPC-700. This special processor was used for sound processor on the Super Nintendo/Famicon (SNES) game systems. It is a modified 65c02 with a completely redone opcode mode and a few unique nuances.

SPC-700 Processor Data (v0.2, Last Modified: 2007-02-17)
SPC-700 Opcode Chart (v0.2, Last Modified: 2007-02-17)

4004

Documentation for the 4bit 4004 processor by Intel. This was the original microprocessor created by Intel. INCOMPLETE: I have not completed these files due to a lack of interest.

4004 Processor Data (INCOMPLETE, v0.1, Last Modified: 2007-01-06)
4004 Opcode Chart (INCOMPLETE, v0.1, Last Modified: 2007-01-06)
